more than words

(this is my life)

31.12.11

so long 2011

twenty-eleven was good to us. new house, new job for tim, many safe travels, tim's thesis done and happy, healthy kids.
and i started to come out the other side of my darkness. awesome.
no, really, it's beyond awesome.

so here's one photo from each month, to recap.

the (red-eyed!) kids in january
in january we decided to move out of our little five-plex and into a house... we then spent the next four months anxiously awaiting our move date. torture!

us in february:
...i don't remember anything that happened in february.
must have been an exciting month. i think mr.cheeks learned to crawl, or something.

dimples in march:
he turned three! wow. where does time go?!
oh, and we celebrated christmas with my family, who couldn't get together until then.
we called it marchmas. it was awesome.

the kids, in a box, in april:
in april, we packed. and packed some more. the kids had fun in boxes.
on the last day of the month, we moved to our awesome new house.

 may, in our new house:
tim, cutting dimples' name into the grass.
oh, how we love our yard, but it takes forever to mow.
also, my sister moved into our basement temporarily. we loved having her around.

tim and me, in june:
...again, not sure what we did, other than enjoy our new house.
oh, and i started on drugs around this time. the wrong drugs.
maybe that's why i don't remember stuff.

in july, celebrating mr.cheeks' first birthday:
we travelled quite a bit in july. none of it was planned, and all of it was awesome.

august, on a road trip:
yeah... we hit a falcon.
and some other stuff happened, but after seeing this epic moment, who cares?!

dimples, in september
his first day of preschool.

dragon-baby and dimple shark, in october.

other stuff happened too, like seeing all of tim's family at thanksgiving.

the boys in november:
we got our first snowfall of the season and it was a ton. and we've had basically none since.
oh, and tim turned thirty and i turned thirty-one.

family pic in december:
this was the photo i intended to send out with christmas cards, but... yeah.
let's just say the christmas cards are still on my desk.

in related news, tim spent the whole year writing his thesis, and finished just today.
the end.

It was nice to look through your year in photographs. And a big congrats to Tim on finishing his thesis (quite an accomplishment, no doubt) and to you Robin for choosing to take a risk and make a difference in the lives of others who experience metal illness. What an amazing couple (and family) you are and what a blessing to know you.

Oops...I meant mental illness. Well, hopefully that typo gave you a laugh. (It sure made Jer and I chuckle)
